Humor Cures Colitis

It is very easy to get discouraged and frustrated with your UC symptoms. Finding humor in the little things can be nearly impossible, but keeping your spirits up is important to grow hope for remission. For those of you who need a little boost, here is a meme I crafted.

UC what people think I do2

Crohn’s and Colitis are diseases that can be pretty embarrassing. The way I deal with it is to talk about it. Let friends know why you don’t feel well. Give people the opportunity to understand your condition. Everybody poops. Everybody has been there. We are just there a bit more often than most. Be comfortable making your disease the butt of a joke. SeewhatIdidthere?

You’re right. One has to overcome the embarrassment factor so that people understand. It’s also why so many of us take so long to get diagnosed – after all, the symptoms are embarrassing AND scary. Thank goodness for diagnoses and THANK GOODNESS for humour. Thanks for posting this!

You’re exactly right! I’ve talked to a few people who said they were embarrassed to tell anyone what was happening during their first flare up. But with humor and good friends who understand it makes it a lot easier 🙂

I love this post and it is very true!! I was diagnosed with UC this year and at first it was hard to figure out a non-embarrassing way to explain the disease to people who have never heard of it. Now I just tell people it’s a crappy disease…literally.
